NOTHING BEATS LIVE BAIT! How many times have you been fishing with frozen bait or a lure and a school of bait fish swims by, but you forgot to bring your bait trap... Imagine if you never had to drag around a
big bulky bait trap again! Imagine if you always had a compact bait trap in
your tackle box any time you needed it! The COLLAPSE-A-TRAP not only easily
catches bait, but is collapsible as well. It just makes sense. When the trap
is open, it has a diameter of 13" and a length of 12". When it is
closed, it's diameter is only 2 1/2" and it's length is only 7". IT
EASILY FITS IN THE BOTTOM OF A TACKLE BOX!!! HOW DOES THE COLLAPSE-A-TRAP CATCH BAIT FISH? Locate bait fish swimming near the water's surface. Open trap and lock the netting arms into place by holding the bottom of the trap with one hand and turning the top of the trap to the right with the other hand. Tie the trap to something so you don't lose it in the water... Slowly lower the trap about 12" below the below the water's surface. You can let the trap rest against the dock or just hold it away from it (as you would if you were in a boat). You should notice that the trap's netting has formed a pocket. Drop tiny pieces of balled-up bread into and around the trap until bait fish gather in and above the trap. Continue to drop bread into the trap. When the bait fish gather directly above and in the trap, SLOWLY raise the trap out of the water, catching the bait fish in the trap's netting. Now you are ready to go fishing with your live bait!
Never use the trap in rough waters or strong current. If there is a slight current or a little wind, attach a few split-shots to the bottom of the netting. Bait fish are more often found in shallow, rather than in deeper water. When using the trap in extremely shallow water, always make sure the trap's netting forms a pocket and never sits on the water's bottom. If you see bait fish, but they are several feet away from the trap, simply create a bread trail from the bait fish to the trap. Most of the time the minnows will follow the bread trail to the trap COLLAPSE-A-TRAP MAINTENANCE After using the trap, rinse the netting
with tap water and let it dry out.
